This privacy notice explains how I collect and use personal information when you visit rodedwards.art, contact me or purchase an artwork from me.
Who I am
I am Rodney J. Edwards, trading as rodedwards.art.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, I am the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.

Information I collect
I may collect personal information that you provide when you contact me, enquire about an artwork or make a purchase. This may include your:
name
email address
postal or delivery address
messages and correspondence
details of artworks you enquire about or purchase
information relating to an order or transaction
If you use the contact form on this website, your name, email address and message are processed through Squarespace and sent to me by email. Squarespace also retains information associated with the form submission. Submitting the contact form does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. I do not receive or store your full payment card details.
How I use your information
I use personal information where necessary to:
respond to enquiries
arrange, process and fulfil purchases
deliver artworks
provide customer service and deal with returns, cancellations or other issues
maintain appropriate records of sales and artworks
comply with accounting, tax and other legal obligations
protect my legitimate business interests and, where appropriate, establish or defend legal claims
Depending on the circumstances, I process personal information because it is necessary to perform a contract with you, to comply with a legal obligation, because I have a legitimate interest in doing so, or because you have given your consent.
Keeping in touch
I may occasionally wish to tell customers and other people who have asked to hear from me about new work, exhibitions, private views or similar events.
I will only send marketing emails where I have an appropriate legal basis to do so. Where I ask for your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
I may occasionally contact existing customers by post about my work, exhibitions or private views where I have a legitimate interest in doing so.
You can ask me to stop sending direct marketing by email or post at any time by contacting rod@rodedwards.art.
Sharing your information
I do not sell your personal information.
I share personal information only where reasonably necessary to operate my business or provide services to you. This may include:
Squarespace, which hosts this website and processes information submitted through the contact form
Stripe, which processes payments
postal, courier or delivery services where necessary to deliver an artwork
professional advisers, service providers or public authorities where necessary to meet legal, accounting or regulatory obligations
The contact form also uses Google reCAPTCHA to help protect the website from spam and abuse.
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, the relevant provider is responsible for using appropriate safeguards as required by applicable data protection law.
How long I keep your information
I keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
General enquiries and correspondence will not normally be kept indefinitely where there is no continuing reason to retain them.
Information relating to purchases may be retained for longer where necessary for accounting, tax, provenance, business records, resolving disputes or meeting other legal obligations.

This website uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the website to function.
I have configured Squarespace to restrict non-essential cookies and have disabled its visitor Activity Log. As a result, some Squarespace analytics features may be limited.
Third-party services used by the site, such as Google reCAPTCHA, may process technical information where necessary to provide their services.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, depending on the circumstances, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to:
ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you
ask for inaccurate information to be corrected
ask for your information to be deleted in certain circumstances
ask me to restrict the way your information is used in certain circumstances
object to certain uses of your information
withdraw consent where I rely on consent
You have an absolute right to object to the use of your personal information for direct marketing.
To exercise any of these rights, or if you have a question or concern about how I use your information, contact me at rod@rodedwards.art.
